Safe Environment Program

The SEP Annual Education & Training Meeting will be online this year due to the pandemic.  Access the webpage at this link: https://tucson.cmgconnect.org and register. View the video.  Conduct then copy and email to your Safe Environment Rep at seppatjames63@gmail.com.

Call the office for an appointment to view the Sacred Heart CMG Program and the required video if you cannot go online yourself.

The Safe Environment Program Representatives: PATRICIA JAMES  Office Hours: Mon-Wed 11:00am-3:00pm. ELVIRA FIGUEROA, hours: 3:00pm-4:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
All new ministers fill out an application on the diocesan web page at diocesetucson.org and submit fingerprints for a background check   All ministers serving in the parish are expected  to abide by the Code of Conduct and the Guidelines for the Prevention of and Response to Sexual Misconduct and attend an educational meeting every 3 years.    Our response is based on the Arizona Mandatory Reporting Law of abuse of a minor. ARS 13-3620.

   CODE OF CONDUCT

 To Prevent                                                         

 New Volunteers are given a reference check, a criminal background check and fingerprinted. The check is renewable every 5 years. Ongoing education/formation is renewed yearly usually in January.   

  To Recognize

To be observant & aware of the warning signs of abuse.  Physical or emotional stress may lead to aggression or withdrawal in an abused child. Elders in our community may be exploited or abused as well. Be informed and compassionate about  this problem.     

 To Respond

Ministers will respond to any misconduct by calling 911 to report observed or suspected assault or abuse.  Follow up by making a report to the pastor or the Safe Environment Rep.
