Jesus Christ is the face of the Father's mercy. These words might well sum up the mystery of the Christian faith. Mercy has become living and visible in Jesus...reaching its culmination in him. The Father, "rich in Mercy"(Eph2:4) after having revealed his name to Moses as "merciful & gracious, slow to anger & abounding in steadfast love & faithfulness"(Ex34:6) has never ceased to show, in various ways throughout history, his divine nature.
Prayer: A healing Mass is offered in Spanish on Wednesdays once a month at 7:00pm in the Church. Misa de Sanacion en Miercoles una vez de mes a las 7:00pm en la iglesia. Estaciones de via crucis en la iglesia. Stations of the Cross in English said on Fridays at 1:30pm in the church. Vida Con Cristo/Alive In Christ every second Thursday of the month begins at 6:30pm.
Almsgiving: Collection of food & money donations for St.Vincent de Paul on the first Sunday of the month. Annual Catholic Appeal is appealing. Make your pledge and watch the goal being met as Fr.Jim paints it rising up the pole. Sandwich makers meet on the 4th Tuesdays of the month. They also need peanut butter & grape jelly, lunch meats and cookies.
Fasting: You can decline to eat meat on Fridays. Practice self-control by giving up that favorite dessert or snack once a week. Practice patience while waiting for your doctors to see you.

Parish Board of Directors Election.
The 3-year term of director Michael Murray expires this January. Any registered member of the parish may run for the position by obtaining 10 signatures of other registered parishioners. It is important to be officially registered! The election will be the weekend of Dec.13-14 after masses. Nominations are closed on Friday, Dec.5th. Immigrant women & children in crisis
Women & children from Central America are in transit by bus have little money and few resources. They need: Ramen soup/cups, bottled water & gatorade, flavored pedialyte, diapers (size 3-4, sanitary napkins, toothbrushes & toothpaste, socks & sweatshirts for children. Place donations in box at the altar.
Fr. Jim will be gone for 2 weeks, July 25-Aug 8, to attend the annual international meeting of the priest support group he is part of (in Tobago this year) and to visit family in Florida & Massachusetts.
The Diocesan annual celebration of marriage, Sunday Sept. 21, 2:30pm at St. Augustine Cathedral. Those celebrating 1st, 10th, 25th, 50th & 60th years of marriage are invited to this special mass, with renewal of marriage vows. ANNUAL Catholic Appeal Report: So far 233 families have pledged $50,619 to the Appeal, over 126% of our parish goal of $40,000! We were only 17 families short to reach our parish goal of 250 pledging families this year. Thanks to all who have given to this year's successful campaign in our parish.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION enrollment continues at the parish office. New students bring Baptismal Certificate or Birth Certificate if not baptized. New and returning students must bring the Fee: $30 for one student; $45 for two students from the same household; $55 for three or more.Now is the ideal time to register, while there is still room. Don't wait till the last minute! When classes fill up, students who register later are put on waiting lists and are included in class only if others drop out. OPERATION RICE BOWL! Rice Bowls are available in front of the altar. Families are invited to consider fasting once a week and put the money saved into the rice bowl to be donated to Catholic Relief Services at the end of Lent.

Friday, January 18 Dedication of Venuti Hall (formerly the Parish Hall) Mass begins at 6:00pm with the Bishop. Spaghetti Dinner is served at 7:00pm in Venuti Hall for $10 per plate. Money raised will be used for renovations to the Hall. Our first project will be to hang a new ceiling, new lights and duct work for air conditioning. Tickets are on sale in the office.
